Dana's Sweet Summer Tea Party...

A dear friend of mine had a baby shower for her first baby!! Not too many of my friends have kids, so it's always so cute when one of our girlfriends has one of these life changing events... It's our turn as "aunties" to get to spoil the bun in the oven. We had the most absolute perfect scenery set atop the hillsides of Bonsall, CA. I've never been to this area before but it's absolutely beautiful. It's so nice that California has so many different types of scenery to look at. Not that I mind constant beach views, but it was just different in a very pretty way. Very "country chic". The party was a little tea party set with cupcakes and unmatched tea cups.. drool...

Pictures for your face...

No shower is complete without some games! We had to pick out the safety pins from a bowl of rice.. harder than it sounds..

The beautiful soon to be Mama...

The views made me happy..

Hawaiian Lifestyle...

On my most recent trip back to Hawaii I was lucky to have the opportunity to go to the Sandbar.. The sandbar is located off the coast of Kaneohe, about a mile offshore. You get there by boat and anchor it in the sand.. hop off the boat and walk around.. and well... P.A.R.T.Y. It's literally a sandbar in the middle of the ocean about thigh deep depending on the tides.. Most people do this for like spring break or something special... this is an every weekend occurrence in Hawaii.. the holidays just get more crowds.. Talk about living the life on the weekends. I tried to never take advantage of these special memorable moments when I lived there, but I do find myself appreciating it more when I visit and stop and take it all in and stare at the clear blue ocean. I love that the ocean feels like a swimming pool at a warm 75 degree temperature.. the water in California is too cold for me and wearing a wet suit is just unacceptable!! (spoiled I know, but I know what I like and won't settle for anything less!).. Pictures you say?? Ok... fine... but if you're not already in Hawaii, you'll probably book a ticket to go there soon after you see the views..

Our boat the Malibu Skier...

We had to deflate the floaties and bring them back on the boat.. I was still sipping out of my party cup.. and someone was blowing bubbles.. kinda awesome..

Oh... and mini photo sesh in the middle of the Pacific.. of course..

I had to get my Apartment 3 fix on just so I could get my After School Special aka grilled cheese and tomato soup.. I probably mentioned this a few times in other blog posts.. but it really is amazing.. They have the coolest decor in there and we're always finding reasons to take pictures.. silly... pictures... don't judge...

I got to check out Morimoto's newest monthly party brunch!! They basically have a DJ, champagne, and Bloody Mary post.. Food, music, champagne.. I'm there...

Look familiar?? The Hawaii Five-0 Headquarters.. Or.. Actually.. the Post Office..

Made another infamous YouTube video... Courtesy of Pineapple Production Films.. that's me.. duh...

Getting Cultured at the Getty Museum....

For Easter weekend I headed north to Los Angeles to catch up with friends and family (as previously stated in my brief Easter post).. I got to see my (great) Aunt and Uncle I hadn't seen for at least 3-4 years.. one of the perks to moving back to the mainland, actually being close to family again! They were non stop and wanted to take me everywhere! It was not what I was expecting.. I was thinking we would just hangout at home and watch some TV.. maybe even play some mahjong.. we are asian. Easter morning we headed to church and I hadn't been to a proper Catholic church in awhile but somehow the prayers came back to me and all the logistics of what "to do" during mass. After we decided to head to the Getty Museum.. I had never been before and was super excited!! The museum itself lies up high on this hill overlooking LA.. utterly beautiful.. Take a gander...

I had no idea what to expect once inside the museum.. It's been quite awhile since I had felt like I was on a field trip touring a castle or museum.. The Getty Museum was magnificent.. I have a bunch of images and here are a few of my favorites.. (sorry that the color/sharpness isn't the greatest, they didn't allow flash and I was relying on my tiny Sony camera)..

These were Pilgrim flasks.. They obviously knew what was up..

Vintage heaven...

French Tapestries... My Aunt likes to take pictures.. definitely related..

Onward to the Roman Empire...

Lady Gaga is not the original hair bow wearer...

This looks like a shot that was planned for a fashion editorial... This man was dressed to the nine's...

This painting was titled "The Model Resting"... Took the picture for obvious reasons..

The detail was amazing..

Larger than life...

A little ode to Easter..

Good day with family... Check out the Getty Museum if you're ever in LA.. They have rotating artworks so it's not always the same!

...family is forever...
