Featured Photographer: Bernie de Belles of De Belles Images...

On a recent trip to New York (which I still need to blog about) I scheduled a photo shoot with a photographer whose work I stumbled upon via a blog from someone in Hawaii, I can't remember whose now, but then I found more pictures by the same photographer who happened to shoot with a couple friends of mine. The best way I can describe his work in one word is "bendy".. if you can contort your body to do crazy things without breaking your neck or arm, you're in good shape.. All about trying to get creative with your body.. I couldn't find much information on him so I kinda just left it at that. Then via the book of face I saw a makeup artist friend of mine tagged in one of his photos and I put two and two together that it was the same person because of his style of photography! He currently lives in New York and will often travel to do shoots which is why a few of my friends in Hawaii had shot with him awhile back. Eureka!! I contacted him and asked if he'd like to shoot while I was in town.. our schedules matched up one evening and that's when awesomeness ensued.. He took some digital pictures but he took a ton of polaroid pictures from old school cameras and one was even a polaroid used by dentists to get extreme closeups.. I couldn't believe the pretty pictures that came from that night.. Polaroids are so unpredictable, but that's what makes them so perfect..

Check my latest photoshoot with Bernie de Belles of De Belles Images:

I needed a massage after these photo sesh.. pretty sure I still have scratches on my back from that wall... I'd do it all over again for these pictures..

Photos by the Sea... Featured Photographer: Mark Ramelb..

A photographer friend of mine, Mark Ramelb, has been shooting pictures for quite some time.. He's such a loyal friend and photographer that whenever there is an event, Birthday party, get together, you name it, he is right there with his trusty camera(s).. He has gotten some great visual documentation of me and my friends being silly and some that are definitely frame-worthy. You can always count on Marky Mark!!

On one of my last visits to Hawaii we did a quick shoot at Kaka'ako State Beach.. Since it feels like forever since I had been in front of a camera, I was excited to take these pictures and work with Mark officially for the first time professional wise! If you're looking to get some pictures done, call Mark and set up an appointment.. He is super nice and you may even make a friend out of it!

Let me just say that I did need help walking on those rocks with my wedges.. NOT EASY!!

Picture time!!

Life of Luxury...

A few months ago I posted about how I did a job for the world renowned Westin Maui at the famed Ka'anapali Coast.. They flew me out to Maui for a night and we did a few shots.. The first night we did a spa shoot with their special water treatment and the next day we shot early morning on the beach to catch Hawaii's natural beauty.. I got a glimpse of some of the pictures.. Check out the final product.. Ahhhhh, to live the life of luxury at a resort such as the Westin Maui..

Dreamy Wedding Photos...

Not MY wedding photos.. I did a few shoots for Hawaii Weddings and Honeymoon Escapes Magazine which is officially out NOW... The photographer Eugene Kam did an excellent job of capturing traditional wedding pictures on location at the Hyatt Hotel in Waikiki.. The gowns came from Masako Formals and flowers by Florist Grand.. Let me tell you, I don't know how those brides hold up the flowers for so long... just posing with those things made my whole arm hurt.. for the record, they were extremely heavy while having to pose exactly how they wanted to show off the dress/gown/location.. being a model can be tough work I tell you! BUT the end product always makes me smile and makes it all worth it.. Here's some snaps of the magazine from my little camera.. I don't want to rip out the pages yet until I know I can get more copies.. so for now, a picture of a picture..

I also did a shoot for Abhasa Spa at the world reknowned Royal Hawaiian Hotel aka the pink hotel.. an iconic staple on the Waikiki skyline.. sighhhhh.. I miss Hawaii..

So pick up a copy and/or order it here!

..I leave for the islands in 7 DAYS!!! Gimme gimme sunshine...

Kyler Kwock Photo Sesh...

A couple weeks ago I did a photo sesh with Hawaii resident Kyler Kwock.. After months of gathering photos and inspiration for a potential, yet unplanned, photo shoot, Kyler asked if I wanted to do a little session to freshen up our portfolios.. I happily agreed, sent off my photos for inspiration for the shoot, and he suggested downtown Honolulu for the location... Anything with brick walls or old windows to get a vintage/romantic feel... After scoping out the area for awhile and finding random backgrounds here and there, I think we found some great spots!! What a talented photographer.. he did wonders with lighting and camera angles... I think we accomplished our mission, all in about an hour and a half!!

The dress I purchased from Modcloth. I haven't even had the opportunity to wear it to an event.. figured a photoshoot would be the perfect debut... The accessories are from Forever 21, my absolute fav for jewelry (except for the single pearl ring.. that's real).. Lace detail.. heart it..

We found a cool graffiti wall so I gave a quick pose for fun..

This was our secret alley that we stumbled upon.. it was PERFECT!! My dress is this great mix of tan and light brown with a slight sheen to it.. paired up with my chunky necklace, gave a nice soft antique look I was going for (all from Forever 21.. surprise!!). Ruffles galore..

Kyler is well known for his wedding photography and commercial prints.. be sure and look him up for any jobs you may need!!
