Exhibit Ambush Fashion Show.. Part 1...

If you're into charities and being a do-gooder AND into fashion and art.. this event is for you!! I'll be walking in this year's Exhibit Ambush Fashion Show on October 22nd located at the Horton Plaza Event Space.. Check the deets below:

This 2011 Fall Season; Exhibit Ambush is transforming the runway into an extravaganza. Think of an avant-garde show with a twist. We will be highlighting the oeuvre of awesome fashion and accessory lines that haven't been seen. Our contemporary artists and graphic designers relish in taking risks and will leave you in awe when you see their work. Our staff draws most of their inspiration from their surroundings, social networking, street fashions, research, and the classic underdogs. Fashion and art are an integral part of our culture and lifestyle. This event will give the artists the creative freedom to express themselves. From the moment you walk out of your car; there will be a story unfolding as your enter the venue. All talent will simultaneously be interacting with each other. The fashion industry is constantly changing, and therefore it's important for our designers to keep up with the status quo. The garments in this show will have that shock value that will leave you wanting more.



The event is hosted by Yara Sofia from Ru Paul's Drag Race and will feature Jesus Estrada from Project Runway among many other talented designers from San Diego and others flying in for the show... Get your tickets on www.wantickets.com... I heard they're limited, so get yours ASAP!!

Acid Dolls...

This Saturday, the 4th.. rather than do the normal hangout sesh at the local watering hole in Honolulu, why not come see a pretty rad fashion show!? ALSO, the fashion event is to benefit my friend's (Juliet Lighter) non-profit called "Women Speaking Out" which is an organization committed to educating young women in middle school through college about dating violence and sexual assault through character development and anti violence training. Programs will include educational presentations, empowerment/beauty workshops and various community events. No brainer.. fashion and a good cause.. That would definitely up the self-morale points right? Here is the details.. The fashion show is for Acid Dolls with owner Miss Cindy King (fabulous!).. Her store location is in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center which is where the festivities will be held.


For Standard tickets ($20), gets you access to the fashion show which starts at 8:30pm (standing room only)..


For VIP tickets ($45), beginning at 7pm, you get a red carpet cocktail party followed by THE fashion extravaganza..


The fashion extravaganza is a preview of the new Acid Dolls collections, titled Urban Ballerina, Wild Hard West, and Graffiti Zoo.. If you're not familiar with the line, then this a definite must for all you hard core fashion girlies out there.. Cindy's line is this mixture of New York fashion with a hint of Hawaii.. I'm not talking aloha wear here people.. I'm talking a label that pulls you in when you walk past her store windows.

Let me give you some visuals.. I happen to own these gold beauties.. The Crystal ($160) I've run these shoes into the ground partying till the wee hours of the morning in Vegas, then turn around and wear them the next night.. they are one of the most comfortable shoes I own.. they have this cool rubber sole on the bottom but so high glam:

Hawaii Socialites...

It's funny how I always dub my girlfriends as the "Hawaii Socialites", but it's more in a fun way and not literally. BUT, we are now OFFICIALLY the Hawaii Socialites!! Cydney Chu from Pearl Ultralounge set up a philathropic event where once a month we come together to help fund a different cause. Yesterday's event held at Pearl benefitted the Hawaii Foodbank where we all donated 3 (or more) canned goods for the charitable agency. What FUN! I get to help a good cause AND hangout with my most awesome girlfriends while doing it?! Sort of a no-brainer..



Socialite: (adj. noun): is a person who participates in social activities and spends a significant amount of time entertaining and being entertained. Socialites use their social skills and connections to promote and raise funds for various charitable or philanthropic activities.

Beautiful girls... They keep my spirits up..

Cirque Du Culture...

I love doing runway shows.. it's such a fun adrenaline rush to get out on stage and model fabulous clothing, especially when it's a one of a kind piece made by local designers.. Obviously the idea is to hopefully produce multiple clothing pieces, but at the time, it's the only one in existence.. I was asked to do the Cirque Du Culture show in combination with the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.. This organization hits me personally so I was excited to be a part of it. The fashion event showcased local designers in Hawaii with an eye for couture, style, and creativity with a circus theme. Obviously, there's some prep time for a fashion show.. even though the whole shebang lasts about ten minutes, it takes hours to get ready.. Hair.. Makeup.. Wigs (if necessary).. Accessories.. Shoes.. all the little details to make a grand show..

My designer was Jodi Salmonson, who lives in Kailua and is a graduate of the University of Hawaii's Fashion Design Program.

I even got to share the stage with Anya Rozova, the runner-up of the tenth cycle of America's Next Top Model.. She's got an awesome walk.. (from what I could see from our backstage view).

After the show, part of the event package was a private viewing with all the attendees to watch Sex and the City 2 at Dole Cannery! What a perfect ending to the night..

Neiman Marcus Junior League Charity Fashion Show..

About 20 models took part in the Neiman Marcus fashion show at the Junior League of Honolulu Charity Event this past Saturday. Held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, the events proceeds help the League fund projects that benefit our community.



Nothing like early call times to shock your body on the weekend, wake up those tired eyes, and strut all you've got on the runway. Rehearsals were from 8-9am, 9-12pm we were in hair and makeup. 12:30pm showtime! The event titled "Sacs in the City" featured several donations from Loco Boutique, Coach, Marc Jacobs, Prada, and other designers. I was like a kid in a candy store with all those purses laying around; I wanted to make bids myself! Here are a few shots of our hair and makeup. Makeup was done lightly for a fresh look (Thanks Kate Schuette for letting me take a snapshot of your makeup! What a cute redhead!).. Hair inspired by Nicole Ritchie with a part down the middle and low braids in the back (I liked how my peekaboo blonde bits stuck out).



We had 3 changes each.. Something about seeing those racks full of pretty clothing makes you giddy inside..


I was dying over the jeggings (Joe's Jeans) I wore for my first outfit.. mixed with that heavy studded jacket (Current/Elliott). It's like they reached into my brain and knew my taste...


Outfit number 2 was amazing! I wanted to take that Philip Lim jacket and keep it myself.. Retails for $995 and worth every penny. The gold sequins sparkled and was really comfortable to wear... Did.. Not.. Want.. To.. Take.. It.. Off..


The third outfit was the craziest one.. I think the Marc Jacobs t-shirt threw me off (sketchy Miss Marc label), but when paired with that jacket (St. John) and funky skirt, it kind of flowed together in a sophisticated but I like to take risks kind of way..


We did our finale walk as a group to Lady Gaga's Just Dance.. Never get tired of that song for the runway.. Here's a shot we took right after the show.. love these girls.. Models in Hawaii are one of the most amazing to work with.. Bright, educated, good-hearted girls..
